Evening activities

Restaurant Evening

Most of our schools choose this option for one of their evening meals as it gives pupils the opportunity to experience eating French food in a real French restaurant, something that in all likelyhood they will go on to do again at some point in the future.

The Relais de Fleuri is a fabulous local hotel and restaurant and they are wonderful hosts who offer a genuinely French restaurant experience for all your pupils and staff. This activity is used by us to introduce new tastes and have the children use their language skills in a very real and practical setting, for example by having to ask for their choice of starter from the French staff at the buffet.

There is an additional cost for this activity.

Pétanque

No trip to France would be the same without playing a game of pétanque. Our staff explain the rules and then everyone chooses their opponents for the tournament to begin.  Winners of each group take part in a semi-final and then a final where we find the grand winner. Excitement during this activity comes as standard and naturally its a game where the most obvious person doesn't always win, providing often surprising pupils the chance to shine.

Puzzle

This is a team activity which becomes surprisingly competitive. Split into teams of three or four the pupils have to complete a jigsaw puzzle map of France which challenges them to work as a team and also tests and improves their geography skills too. We have a leaderboard for this activity that provides motivation between year groups from the same returning school, an annual fastest time competition and also now it even has a staff section for the more competitive of our visiting teachers.

Quiz

More prizes and a test of French language, music and general knowledge in a fun but competitive environment make the quiz a popular evening activity.

Disco

With both our own staff and visiting pupils loving a bit of a dance our disco night is always a big favourite and gives eveybidy the chance ot let their hair down although it does sometimes resemble more of a karaoke evening than a disco.

Film

After a week of ‘full on’ activity this is a good option for a quiet last night. We have a selection of Asterix and Tintin films available in French and English.

Loto night

A timeless fun way to learn your French numbers with the bonus of winning prizes for the lucky ones.
